Can Spoken learn names and places?

You can tell Spoken things like your name, names of friends, and places you go regularly. That way, Spoken will be able to remember these and offer them as predictions in relevant situations.

  1. To help Spoken learn names and places, go to settings and select “Personalize My Predictions” in the menu.
The “Personalize My Predictions” option in Spoken's settings menu is highlighted with an orange outline. It is the first option on the page.
  1. Tap “Start Answering Questions” at the bottom of the screen. To leave the survey at any time, tap the “X” in the upper right corner. (Note: If you leave the survey before completing it, your entries will not be saved and you will have to start over the next time.)
There is a short blurb about the personalized predictions option and an orange arrow points to the large “Start Answering Questions” button at the bottom of the page.
  1. Tap in the text box to open the keyboard, then enter your name and tap “Save” to go to the next question. If you want to skip any question in the survey, tap “Skip This Question” and you will be advanced to the next screen.
A heading says “What's your full name?” The keyboard is open and someone's first and last names have been typed into the form. An orange arrow points to the save button directly above the keyboard.
  1. Enter the names of any pets you have. You can enter names one at a time or enter multiple names at once by inserting commas between the names. Tap “Save” to move to the next question.
The name “Rex” is typed into the form. There is an “Add” connected to the right side of the form. An orange arrow points from it to a list of already added names positioned directly below the form. These names include Rover, Fido, and Snowball. There is a large save button above the keyboard that will advance you to the next page.
  1. Enter names of people you may talk about regularly. For example, if you have a close friend named “Arthur,” you could enter that name and it will be predicted higher in the list of words.
The name “Fred Jr.” is typed into the form. Like in the pet example, an orange arrow points from “Add” to a list of names already added. There is a large save button above the keyboard.
  1. Enter any places you will talk about regularly.
The name of a grocery store is entered into the form. An orange arrow points from the “Add” button to a list of previously added locations below the form. A second orange arrow points from the list to the location where the save button has been on previous screens, but the button now says “Finish” instead.
  1. Tap the “Finish” button to complete the survey. Spoken will now know a little more about you and give better, more relevant word predictions!

How do I get word predictions based on what I'm doing or where I'm at?
