What does incognito mode mean in Spoken?

While Spoken is in incognito mode, the words you type won’t influence predictions.

Spoken is built to learn from what you’ve said before and give better predictions the more you use it. But, there may be some situations where you don’t want what you’re saying to influence future predictions, like if you’re discussing something sensitive or confidential. You can turn Spoken’s learning ability on and off in the settings.

The “Teach Spoken How I Talk” setting is located under the “Predictions” heading in the settings and is turned on by default.

If you turn it off, you go into incognito mode and a warning appears below the toggle. When you’re in incognito mode, Spoken won’t use the text you’ve inputted to influence future word predictions. To go out of incognito mode and allow Spoken to learn from your speech, simply turn the “Teach Spoken How I Talk” setting back on.

In the Spoken AAC app's settings menu, the Teach Spoken How I Talk setting is shown toggled on, and an arrow is pointing to the setting toggled off. In the toggled off position, Incognito Mode appears in smaller, red text below the main title.

Please note that Spoken word predictions will only be customized after your first 200 words are selected and you are in your free trial period or subscribed to Spoken Premium.
