Spoken is HALF OFF for AAC Awareness Month!

A banner graphic with large text saying “Premium is 50% off!” Below that is smaller, italicized text saying “Get it before AAC Awareness Month is over!” The Spoken - Tap to Talk AAC is present below that. To the right of the text are two iPhone mockups showing different screens from Spoken. One shows the Design ElevenLabs Voice page, with a prompt entered into the textbox. The other shows the Create Your Voice Clone page. A blue sticker in front of the phones says “Explore new features in the latest update!”

Our yearly AAC Awareness Month sale is back! As always, we’ve slashed the price of Spoken to celebrate. During the month of October, you can get Spoken Premium for 50% off its usual price. This not only includes both of our subscription plans, but also Spoken for Life, our one-time payment option. In previous years, Spoken for Life was only available for purchase through our website, but it’s now available in-app too! Just tap the white banner at the bottom of the main page to find it.

If you’re interested in upgrading to Spoken Premium, now is the perfect time. You can purchase it here on our website or head over to the purchase page in-app. We’re proud to offer this discount throughout the entire month, but make sure to act before October ends!

Did You Know Spoken Just Updated?

Our AAC Awareness Month sale comes in conjunction with a new update to Spoken, which includes some exciting additions to the app.

First off, we added support for ElevenLabs voices. By linking your account, you can access any of the voices you’ve added to your library on elevenlabs.io, where you’ll find thousands of premade options to choose from. We also added tools to Spoken so you can build your own ElevenLabs voices without leaving the app. The Voice Design option allows you to create a voice with nothing but a simple description of what you want it to sound like. Voice Cloning, which is only available to ElevenLabs subscribers, lets you create a high-quality voice clone with just 10 seconds of audio. Both options taken together exponentially increase the level of personalization available to users!

Secondly, we now allow you to choose from your device’s built-in voices. Although lower quality than Spoken voices, many of these will work offline. If you’re on an Apple device running a recent OS version, you can also set up a Personal Voice and find it among the list of system voices. Personal Voice is a completely free, on-device voice cloning service offered on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

All this comes just a month after the last update, which expanded our own voice library with five high-quality options and added hundreds of new word icons.

With all these new updates, it’s a great time to jump into Spoken or upgrade to Premium, especially while it’s half off!

What is AAC Awareness Month?

AAC Awareness Month is a time dedicated to promoting awareness about AAC — augmentative and alternative communication. AAC refers to all the tools and techniques developed to help people with speech and language challenges communicate effectively. As its full name implies, AAC can be used to augment speech or as a speech alternative, depending on the user.

People use AAC for many different reasons. There are dozens of ways you can lose the ability to speak, or have it become difficult. AAC assists people with these struggles by giving them a way to stay in the conversation and continue to self-advocate.

Although AAC encompasses a broad spectrum of tools and methods to assist people in communicating, it’s possible to split all of these into two main categories:

Spoken is a popular AAC app among teen and adult AAC users. With much of AAC being designed for children, our goal has always been to create an experience that preserves dignity and allows adults to communicate fully. For a breakdown of why it’s a great choice for adults, see here.

If you or someone you know could take advantage of AAC, you can try Spoken for free today! And, if you like it, you can upgrade to Spoken Premium for half its normal price through the rest of October.
